DESCRIPTION:
Core counseling theories and techniques serve as a vital anchor whether you are establishing your initial clinical groundwork, sharpening your therapeutic approach, or guiding emerging practitioners. “Bridging Theory and Practice” offers an interactive workshop to translate core counseling frameworks and ethical principles into actionable practice across various career milestones:
School Counselors: Apply evidence-based tools to systemic, short-term academic and social-emotional environments.
Clinical Mental Health Counselors: Master advanced methods for handling diagnostic clinical formulations and complex trauma cases.
New Counselors: Engage in a supportive network to bridge conceptual knowledge with confident real-world execution.
Supervisors: Gain pedagogical and legal structures to assess practitioner competency and safeguard client and student welfare via ethical gatekeeping.
OBJECTIVES:
●Examine foundational counseling theories to pair appropriate clinical techniques with individual client needs across K-12 and clinical environments
Investigate strategies for navigating challenging client and supervisee dynamics
Share and adapt practical tools and strategies for both school-based (K-12) and clinical environments
●Participate in experiential theoretically driven counseling sessions
